What we collect, and why

Who we are
Crawford McMillan, LLC is a Virginia limited liability company. We sell data assessment and remediation to private equity sponsors and the companies they own. For anything about this notice, write to graeme@crawfordmcmillan.com.
What this site collects
Forms. When you use a contact form or one of our free tools, we collect what you type, usually a name, an email address and a company. Forms are processed by Netlify. We use what you send to reply to you and, where you have asked for a tool result, to deliver it. We do not sell or rent your details.
Newsletter. Inside The Data Room is published through Ghost. Subscribing adds your email address to that list. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read and where visitors come from. It sets cookies and records an anonymised IP address. You can block it with your browser's settings or an extension and the site works the same.
Scheduling. If you book a call, the booking runs through our scheduling provider, which collects the details you enter to create the meeting.
How long we keep it
Form submissions and correspondence are kept while we are in contact and for as long as we need them to run the business and meet our obligations. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is kept on Google's standard retention settings.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to the address above and we will answer within 30 days.
Client data
Data we handle inside an engagement is governed by that engagement's signed agreement, not by this notice. We work in the client's own systems wherever the work allows, and we do not reuse client data outside the engagement.
